Our Goals

Connect the Seneca Community

  • By establishing Astra Labs, our team is hoping to connect engineering students in the Seneca community and provide them with the opportunity to participate in Launch Canada.

Educate Others

  • We intend to educate others by promoting educational content related to space technology and innovation on our social media platforms.

Raise Funds

  • Through our sponsorship package and other initiatives, we are raising funds to help us participate in more events.

Showcase Our Efforts

  • We are planning to participate in Launch Canada's competition in August 2026.

Our Vision

ASTRA Labs exists to provide Seneca students with hands-on experience in rocket design, fabrication, and testing. We believe that the best way to learn aerospace engineering is by building real systems that fly.

  • Communication: To reach our goals, we must communicate with our team members on a regular basis.

  • Respect: Team members must demonstrate respect for each other. We have zero tolerance for bullying and harassment.

  • Collaboration: Our projects are huge and cannot be completed by one person alone.

Why Rocketry?

  • Rocketry is one of the most challenging and interdisciplinary fields in engineering. A successful rocket launch requires expertise in:

    • - Aerodynamics and fluid dynamics
    • - Structural analysis and materials science
    • - Propulsion and combustion engineering
    • - Electronics and avionics
    • - Control systems and telemetr.
    • - Safety protocols and risk management
    • - Project management and teamwork.
    • - Manufacturing and fabrication
    • - CAD designing, Manufacturing understanding
    • - Project management and teamwork

    • Or any course from below is preferable:
    • - EEN EET EMA MIT ECT
    • - Additionally, any other program for team management, marketing, and sponsorship

  • By working on rockets, our members gain real-world skills that directly translate to careers in aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing.
